MARU TE

The Maru Te hand system is based on the path of a circle. It is the purest and most easily recognized of the five hand systems due to its large and fluid movement. An integral part of mawashi uke, the Maru Te can be used to devestate your opponent with next to no effort from you. It is a stand alone hand system of defense that you can use to fit the situation. In other words, you can use it to deflect your attacker into a wall or cement sidewalk, a building or the guy next to him. You can also use Maru Te to gain control of your attacker and/or strike back in some way to end continuation of the attack. Maru Te covers from the groin up and is functional against hand or sticked weapon attacks from the mid section on up. Advance study will teach you to use Maru Te to defend against low kicks, take an opponent to the ground, or dislocate or break your opponents appendage. NOTE: These techniques are ONLY to be used if you feel your life is in danger or jeapordy. Any misuse of these techniques is not condoned and in fact fiercly looked down upon.
